Application Guide for Chinese Government Scholarship - Bilateral Program (Type A)
The bilateral program provides full or partial scholarships for applicants in accordance with the agreements or consensus on education cooperation and exchange reached by the Chinese government and the governments, institutions, universities, and international organizations of other countries.
I. Supporting Categories, Duration, Majors, and Instruction Language
1. Supporting Categories: The program sponsors undergraduates, postgraduates for master’s and doctoral degrees. For details, please contact the international student dispatching department of the applicant’s home country.
2. Instruction Language: Chinese.
II. Scholarship Coverage
Tuition fees, on-campus apartment accommodation, living expenses and comprehensive medical insurance are covered during the applicant’s study in China.
Ⅲ. Application Method and Time
Applicants should apply to the international student dispatching department of their home country (usually the office of educational and cultural affairs of Chinese diplomatic missions) within a specified period, generally from early January to April. Ⅳ. Eligibility
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with good physical and mental health;
2. In terms of educational background and age, applicants must:
●be an academically outstanding holder of high school diploma under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs;
●be an academically outstanding holder of a bachelor’s degree under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;
●be an academically outstanding holder of a master’s degree under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;
3. For other specific conditions, please consult the international student dispatching department of your home country.
V. Application Process
1. For the application time, the number of the accepting institution, and other information, applicants should consult the international student dispatching department of their home country.
2. Applicants should log on to “Online Application System of the China Scholarship Council for International Students” (website: http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or http://www.campuschina.org), click on the “Scholarship Application for Students” icon to enter, fill in and submit the application information online, and print the Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form. Please select 东北电力大学 as your first choice, of which the “Number of the Accepting Institution” is “10188”.
3. Applicants should submit the application documents to the international student dispatching department of their home country within the specified period.
VI. Admission and Notification
1. The China Scholarship Council (CSC) will examine whether the applicants meet the requirements.
Unqualified applicants or application documents will not be accepted or handled.
2. The approved application documents will be forwarded to the relevant university for admission.
The CSC has the right to make appropriate adjustments to the university, major, supporting category, and duration of scholarship chosen by the applicant according to the requirements of the scholarship funded by the governments, the acceptance capacity of the host university, the required duration of study for the major and the qualifications of the applicant, etc., and the university will determine the admission result.
The university may advise applicants to change their major according to the application documents and other actual situations, and will then contact the applicant via the email address they have filled in their application. Please pay close attention to emails.
3. Scholarship recipients can study in China.
Upon the admission confirmation by the host university and approval by the China Scholarship Council, applicants are eligible for the Chinese Government Scholarship after passing a review and physical examination upon arrival at the university.
Each scholarship recipient can only receive funding from one Chinese government scholarship program.
4. Admission documents will be sent to the students.
The China Scholarship Council will send the Admission Notice and Visa Application for Study in China (Form JW201) to the Chinese Embassy (or Consulate General) in the homeland of applicants. Then, these documents will be sent to the international student dispatching department or the students themselves.
5. Scholarship recipients are not allowed to change their study information.
Scholarship recipients are not allowed to change the university, major and duration of study as stated in the Admission Letter after coming to China.
6. Applicants must come to China for study by the deadline.
The recipient will be disqualified from obtaining the scholarship if he or she is unable to study in China by the deadline, unless due to external force majeure.
